STÖRER is a public-space installation created as part of the art festival Stadt im Fluss in Esslingen in 2024 together with artist Julia Brielmann. The work engages with the omnipresent flood of digital images, particularly visible in places such as train stations. Six custom designed display panels, modeled on the commercial city screens operated by the media company STRÖER, draw on this visual environment while simultaneously disrupting it. Digital glitches, normally perceived as errors, are deliberately employed and aesthetically amplified. Individual frames from moving-image sequences were printed onto mesh banners and integrated into the panels.
